I WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE THE VOTERS OF KNOX COUNTY TO VOTE FOR SHERIFF MIKE MORRIS IN THE UPCOMING ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE OF SHERIFF.

A 33 YEAR VETERAN OF LAW ENFORCEMENT THAT HAS DEDICATED HIS LIFE AND CAREER TO SERVING. I HAVE WORKED FOR SHERIFF MORRIS IN VARIOUS CAPACITIES FOR THE PAST 16 YEARS IN THE JAIL DIVISION AND CAN VERIFY THAT HE IS MORE THAN CAPABLE OF LEADING THE KNOX COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT.

SHERIFF MORRIS IS THE CURRENT SHERIFF AND HAS SERVED AS CHIEF DEPUTY ON TWO OCCASIONS AS ROAD MAJOR, DETECTIVE, CAPTAIN AND AS THE LEADER OF THE SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS TEAM.

To all,I have read all of the emails from Law Enforcement & Military personnel about Barack Obama's rudeness and what seems to be disgust for basically anyone in uniform.

Well, it's my turn to add to the list of e-mailers and here it is:So members of the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department, Michigan State Police, (me included) and other local agencies inside Calhoun County are working with Secret Service in the security of Mr. Obama. Mr. Obama's bus arrives in Battle Creek and pulls into the stadium area.

Before Mr. Obama exits the bus, he has the Secret Service get off and tell all Law Enforcement personnel in uniform that they now have to stand behind the bus so Mr. Obama is not seen with anyone in a Law Enforcement uniform before he gets off or while in the public view.

So, everyone from Michigan State Police, Sheriff's Detentes and other agencies look at each other for a brief second, go and stand behind the bus out of sight so Mr. Obama does not have to see, or been seen with, what to him is 'undesirables' since he refuses to be seen , or even acknowledge Military or Law Enforcement personnel in uniform. And he wants to be our commander-in-chief!At a time of war and terrorism in our world, this presidential candidate who is being protected by various branches of the military & law enforcement at the tax payers expense, refuses to acknowledge, be seen with, have in his photographed background, any type of Military or Law Enforcement in uniform. But this is not in the headlines or in the news or on TV. The TV news doesn't show us marching around behind the bus.

In the future, look and see if you can see a single soldier or police officer in uniform when you see Obama. Why? I wonder what the story or media frenzy would be if it was Muslims, blacks, whites, Jews, or any other race, gender, religion, and/or occupation, that Mr.. Obama refused to be seen with or have around him. Why would I make this up? Everyone in Law Enforcement knows we have traditionally had more funding under Democrats.

Just food for thought leading up to November 4th.

Let me tell you, make sure you read all the way to the bottom. I almost deleted this e-mail but I was blessed when I got to the end
God, when I received this e-mail, I thought...
I don't have time for this... And, this is really inappropriate during work.  
 
Then, I realized that this kind of thinking is... Exactly, what has caused lot of the problems in our world today.   
 
We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning...  
Maybe, Sunday night...  
And, the unlikely event of a midweek service.  
 
We do like to have Him around during sickness...  
 
And, of course, at funerals.  

However, we don't have time, or room, for Him during work or play...   

Because.. That's the part of our lives we think... We can, and should, handle on our own.  

May God forgive me for ever thinking..  

That... there is a time or place where..  
 
HE is not to be FIRST in my life.  
We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us.  

If, you aren't ashamed to do this...  
Please follow the directions.  
 
Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father."

WITH THE ELECTION JUST A LITTLE MORE THAN 30 DAYS AWAY, I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THE TIME AND REQUEST THAT THE VOTERS OF KNOX COUNTY RE-HIRE SHERIFF STEVE LUCE TO ANOTHER TERM AS OUR SHERIFF. SHERIFF LUCE JUST ISN'T MY BOSS, HE IS MY FRIEND AND I ADMIRE HIS LEADERSHIP ABILITIES THAT I HAVE WITNESSED FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS THAT HE HAS BEEN SHERIFF, AS WELL AS YEARS EARLIER WHEN HE WAS A VINCENNES POLICE OFFICER AS WELL. GOOD PRINCIPLED LEADERSHIP DOESN'T COME AROUND EVERYDAY, YET, WE IN KNOX COUNTY HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE TO HAVE HAD THIS MAN IN OFFICE FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS AND FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, WE WOULD BE BENEFICIAL

TO HAVE FOR ANOTHER FOUR. SHERIFF LUCE IS RESULTS ORIENTED, HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO DECLARE "WAR ON DRUGS", HE DID, JUST ASK MANY OF THE METH DEALERS WHO ARE SITTING NOW IN THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS. OR THOSE ONES WHO HAD THERE PROPERTIES SEIZED AND FORFEITED FOR ILLEGAL DRUG MANUFACTURING. THERE IS WORK THAT STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE, BUT WE ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK, WE SHOULD STAY THE COURSE. WHEN DID WE EVER HAVE AN INMATE WORKFORCE THAT HELPS CLEAN UP COMMUNITIES IN THE PAST? I CAN'T REMEMBER ANY, BUT WE HAVE HAD ONE FOR THE PAST FOUR YEARS.

I GUESS SO MUCH FOR THE PRISONERS SITTING IN JAIL DOING NOTHING. AS A MATTER OF FACT, THEY HAVE DONE WORK IN OUR CITY OF BICKNELL ON A FEW OCCASIONS; ALONG WITH WORK THAT THEY DONE FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL FIELD, PAINTING THE SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER.

AT LEAST EFFORTS WERE MADE IN BICKNELL, ALONG WITH OTHER COMMUNITIES AROUND THE COUNTY.

WAS IT ENOUGH, PROBABLY NOT, BUT RESOURCES ALWAYS HAVE TO COME INTO PLAY, THOSE OF WHICH WE DON'T HAVE ALOT, BUT THE SHERIFF HAS HIS WORKFORCE MAKE DO WITH WHAT THEY DO HAVE. THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT HAS A SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS,(S.W.A.T.) TEAM, THEY ARE USED FOR HOSTAGE TYPE SITUATIONS, ALONG WITH DRUG RAIDS, HIGH RISK WARRANT SERVICE PROCEDURES.ALSO THERE IS SPECIAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM. (S.E.R.T.) WHICH SPECIALIZES IN HIGH RISK JAIL SECURITY, HIGH RISK TRANSPORTS, AND RIOT CONTROL IN JAILS.

THESE ARE A COUPLE OF EXAMPLES OF VISION AND LEADERSHIP TAKEN ON BY SHERIFF LUCE TO SECURE THE CITIZENS OF KNOX COUNTY. THERE ARE VARIOUS OTHER SPECIALIZED TEAMS THAT THE SHERIFF HAS CREATED AND YOU CAN FIND OUT ABOUT THOSE BY E-MAILING HIM AT STEVELUCE@CHARTER.NET.

I FEEL A CANDIDATE SHOULD BE JUDGED BY THEIR RECORD AND RESULTS AND BY BEING A FIRST HAND WITNESS WITHIN THE LAST FOUR YEARS OF THIS SHERIFF'S ADMINISTRATION, I WOULD URGE MY FELLOW CITIZENS TO RE-ELECT THE RIGHT MAN FOR SHERIFF ON NOVEMBER 7TH AND THAT MAN WOULD BE SHERIFF STEVE LUCE.

I WOULD LIKE TO RESPOND TO THE PERK A LAWN CONSPIRACY THEORY.

I WAS MONITORING RADIO TRAFFIC AT THE SHERIFF DEPARTMENT ON THE DAY IN QUESTION AND IT WAS OFFICER BOURLARD WHO HAD THE VEHICLE PULLED OVER AT THE SAID LOCATION THAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT. HE HAD JUST DROPPED OFF A PRISONER AT THE JAIL AND WAS COMING BACK TO BICKNELL WHEN HE GOT BEHIND A VEHICLE THAT HAD NO LICENSE PLATE ON IT, SO HE DID HIS JOB AND PULLED IT OVER.

AS A MATTER OF FACT THE GUY WORKED AT PERK A LAWN AND BECAME BELIGERANT, AND HIS BOSS WALKED OVER TO THE AREA AND ATTEMPTED INTERFERE, BUT LEFT WHEN ADVISED HE COULD FACE GOING TO JAIL FOR OBSTRUCTION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT.
