Wastewater figures
Ron Ackman
Wastewater losses since the raise in the sewer rates.
This is a total loss of $145.392.00 each year and it is growing.
The question is what is the mayor and the council going to do?
There are three options:
1. Raise the sewer rates again,
2. Lower the rates to entice more people to move here and share the expenses or
3. Fire everybody and stop any and all repairs to cut expenses.
Wait a minute Bicknell already tried #3 and to everybody's surprise the sewer plant fell apart and ended up or will end up costing all of us near 7 million dollars to get the state off of our backs.
#1 will cost us even more population which will again cost Bicknell a loss of revenue again.
That leaves only #2 “lower the sewer rates” not much chance of that is there? Well I guess they will have to figure out a #4 which of course is grants to pay down the cost and would also lower the sewer rates and would of course bring new families to Bicknell; I am not sure but maybe with new families Bicknell could actually have merchants that are making money for a change.
Keep in mind at the current rate of revenue loss Bicknell will have lost the entire amount of the cost of the sewer plant in 34 years. What this means is that Bicknell will not be able to maintain the new plant and will not have money to rebuild in 20 years when they have planned for this plant to be obsolete once again.
