If you read this ordinance you will find in the penalty section that it reads "not less than" but in the actual ordinance that the council passed and the Mayor signed it reads "not more than" and even though it is a slight change in appearance it actually gives the administration the option to fine those they like $1.00 and those they do not like they can fine at the maximum amount at their choice.

This ordinance is simply an ordinance that gives the administration the option to choose who they punish and how much they want to punish certain people for the same or similar offense.

Had they left the original “not less than” reading they would have had the option to fine with no maximum restraints, this simply addresses the ability of the Bicknell City Council and Mayor to address the operation of the City of Bicknell. They are trying to run the City of Bicknell via complaints by friends and relatives.

Unfortunately it is impossible for an administration to improve a city that they are supposed to represent by using the good ole boy ordinance writing and passing system.

Even though there are not many running against the sitting mayor and council members in this coming election it is important to go to the polls in November and replace all of those who can be replaced; the rest can be replaced at the next city election along with any of those who choose not to represent the people of Bicknell.
