Another Groundhog Day

Today is "Groundhog Day." Many of you will remember the Bill Murray movie of the same name.  Murray plays a weatherman who is forced to relive the same day over and over and over again. Only when he finally gets the day right is his curse broken.
 
This plot is strangely similar to what we have seen in recent years from borrow and spend Washington politicians on both sides of the aisle. Politicians are forcing us to live through the same pledges, the same broken promises, and even the same political campaigns that we have seen many times in the past. 2010 is our opportunity to "get it right," to break the curse once and for all.

The story line makes for a funny Hollywood movie with a happy ending, but in real life one can only see the same movie so many times. Politicians in Washington are trying to pass yet another pork-laden stimulus bill through the Congress. President Obama is proposing yet another budget with a deficit over $1,000,000,000,000. And the Democrat leadership in Congress is trying to devise yet another strategy to pass a big government program - this time, government-controlled health care - despite strong opposition from the American people. Over and over, the same Washington insiders are making the same poor decisions and forcing future generations to pay the bill. Enough is enough.

It is too bad these politicians are not frightened by the shadow of debt that they are casting over future generations. Unfortunately for us, the only thing that makes them want to hide for six weeks is the prospect of taking questions from constituents.
 
Let's pull the plug on this movie. Let's send a message to Washington that the people of southern Indiana don't want more of the same. It's time for a new era of responsible leadership in Congress.
 
Fresh ideas and new leadership is what is needed to get us out of this mess, not a repackaged sequel of what got us here in the first place. With your help, we can fix Washington and return our Congress to the American people.

first let me say i'm sorry for you and stan's loss.is it just me or are the dumocrats running for cover for their dirty deeds? chris dodd saw the writting on the wall after allowing the worst banking disaster in my life time happen.he was the senate watch dog while saying everything's ok,well we know now how that worked out.teddy died,no loss there.scott brown wins the seat teddy once stunk up since what the 60's. wow the shot heard around the world.shortly after his boy out in rhode island said he's not scared at what happened in mass.well after writting comments myself since [with countless numbers of others] to articles in the providence journal.ted's boy patrick all of a sudden wanted to try out new endeavors he's done.for weeks i read thousands of negative comments and found the people have spoken in r.i. as well.bam hopefully the last kennedy to hold an office will be gone.john murthur [if thats correct] died,again no loss there.but i'm wondering if they are going to still waste the millions of our money on that airport that had three flight a day in his district.he wont be using it anymore.the guy in north dakota bowed out.it's not like anybody knows who he is.reid,boxer-down in the poles big time.others jumping ship and switching parties [not like they can hide there].the people are starting to pay attention.last but not least our own evan bayh.well at least he had enough balls to call it what it is,the most corrupt government in washington he's ever seen.that was not an exact quote but the point was made.i do believe this,it's not the last we've heard from bayh.i believe he will take a stand against the chicago political/corrupt machine in 2012.he has spoken just by not allowing ample time for the dems to prepare and or adjust with the deadline being this friday.they'll have somebody in there but not somebody the people wants it'll be someone the party picks.meaning nobody was given enough time to get enough signatures.all you nay sayers that say tea parties are meaningless you better rethink because they're coming to a town nearest you.i also posted on here several months ago that the unused portion of our money not being used from obama's stimulus would be used to get some of these crimminals re-elected.well words out,thats exactly what is being done.those unused funds are no long available for the thing that we were told they would be used for.they've only used up 1/3 and it was to be used to keep unemployment less than 8%.well having 2/3 held in a "slush fund" unused they are set to put in another stimulus "two".it doesn't mean cash is on hand,it just means they will borrow and or print more for what ever.he also want billions for obamajobs,so why the new stimulus? THEY ARE USING OUR MONEY,OUR KIDS MONEY,OUR GRANDKIDS MONEY SO THEY CAN BE RE-ELECTED.SO AS A GROUP THEY CAN SCREW US SOMEMORE WITH THEIR BIG NO RESULT CRIMMINAL GOVERNMENT.LIKE I SAID A YEAR AGO LAST NOVEMBER OBAMA WAS PUT IN TO FINISH THE JOB THEY COULDN'T 9-11.THAT WAS FINISH US OFF FINANCIALLY.whats next.i believe we will be attacked again but this time they will tell us we're broke and can't defend ourselves.john coyle

ground hog day!

It is a fraud! On the radio this morning they reported that he saw his shadow at 7:30 AM and the sun doesn't even come up till 8 AM. So he had to be seeing his shadow from the television flood lights (all these years)! Lord help us.
